Yea. Don't know when they started that though? My rig is at least 25 y.o., maybe more.

They didn't used to have such in the rental pool (anywhere I recall). With all the EPA stuff now, I'm not even sure how they can rent them, because all gases are to be recaptured. I guess they 'assume' the system has broken and already discharged everything, so the DIY'r can't hurt anything else.

And it's mounted in the bottom half of an aluminum roasting pan. So it has handles to carry it with too. :D

    Something like this

But I have to give all the credit to Dear 'Ole Dad. It was his 'invention'. I'm just the beneficiary of some of his skills, knowledge and tools. And personality.

The man made several specialty tools over the years for specific purposes. As a line mechanic he'd be paid about 60-80 hrs most weeks, because he could burn up the flat rate book. And do it right, with his home brew special tools, a little planning and some hustle.

Many is the tale I could spin about him, but suffice it to say I miss him. And appreciate that I have great memories.

Dent in passenger door; makes the truck faster like dimples on a golf ball.
Here are some photos of mine that I just took out for Anthony (but stripped a thread on one tube while removing). I also have the compressor, but I have no idea the condition of any of the A/C since it failed years ago. If you want any of it send me a PM and we'll work out a price. If there's a way I can check the condition of the parts by themselves let me know and I'll try.
