Hey guys, I need front pads and rotors on my 2015. What’s the cheapest setup that’s worth buying? Or should I stick with OEM? I use my truck as a daily and haul stuff on weekends. Also, where’s the best place to buy from?

    Thanks!

Cheap and brakes don’t go hand in hand.

I might go cheap on micro fiber cloth, but not brakes.

I used Centric pads on my Tacoma once, I smoked them in like 30k miles. Then I went back to OEM. Unfortunately I didn’t learn my lesson on the Camry and put on O’Reilleys pads and after about 10k miles they developed a horrendous brake squeal anytime I’m reversing.

Whatever you get, do a proper break in on them. They will work better and last longer.

    That's not bad.
OP, from my experience, you get what you pay for with brakes. Do not go and buy those pads with a lifetime warranty because you could very well be doing this again in a year or two. I haven't done it on this truck but ask me how I know....

I never said I want crap brakes, guys. Reread my post. I’m asking for the cheapest that are worth buying. If OEM costs $300 and there’s a comparable set for $250, that’s cheaper. I’m not saying I want crappy $70 eBay specials.

Sounds like the consensus is there aren’t better options than OEM. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy OEM brakes?

I ordered my last set of pads for the Tacoma on eBay for about half the price that the dealer wanted. I called my local dealer to “get a quote” just to make sure i had the correct part number before ordering.

Sorry I lied, they're 143.95 lol. I'm not affiliated with this seller, just did a quick search. I have run brembos for years on all of my vehicles.

Hear is some real-world experience on my 2015 TuRD Sport:

I love Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic pads. I have used these on 3 different vehicles, awesome. Low dust, no noise, good stopping power. Link to a set for 2015 Tacoma on Amazon, front set for $26:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002PL5818/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Set of Duralast (yes, I know, not the best, but I am having good experience with them) front rotors; a pair for $74 at Autozone.
