If you have never done it there is a lot of room for error and it requires two people.
You are gonna have to get it painted and that is the majority of your labor. Plus you are going to have to get the newly painted hood from the body shop to your house. Sorry.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
It’s quite possible the dealer that sold the truck to you was not informed of the repair either. Still sucks.

You could look for a used good on car-part.com or other and swap the hood out. Just need to find the same color in good shape. If you buy a hood from Toyota, will need to be painted and cleared.

Wow...that's why I'm always hesitant to buy used. You never know what you're gonna get.

At the very least, you check the history report and toyota service history. Pay a dealership to inspect the vehicle and personally do a thorough check on your back, hands, and knees...

That sucks man...hope it all works out. I would personally get a new truck...i mean hood.

If you can find a hood and take it to get painted , I'm sure with some help you could get it on there .

oem hood will be primer of some color...black or grey typically...no choices on color.

they are always expected to be paint matched by the bodyshop

You may still find someone who would swap you for an OR hood, they may have a cousin in Auto-body and take a chance.
