    Hello everyone,

Just wondering what kinda of tool boxes you guys have put in your truck. I have a 4 door 06 2nd gen off road and was looking for a low profile fit, that wouldn’t take up my entire bed.

I have a '13 access cab.....Looked at virtually every truck box out there in 2013. Finally settled on a low profile Kobalt from Lowes.....It is narrow, only about 12 or 13" vs. 18 to 22" wide for most of the others, It also has a lifetime warranty, was very very well priced, and the low profile does not stick up far enuf to see in rear view mirror. Love it, however I'd consider myself a light weight user......keep oil, rags, rope, bottle jack, a back pack, blanket, jacket, the bed tie downs, and a decent sized tool bag, frizbees, bungee cords etc. in it at all times. Do not use it like a contractor would, for that I'd get a Weather Gard, or Weather Craft whatever it is called. For me that was way overkill weight and size wise, but they are nice no question........The Kobalt I got has been trouble free, the right size, I'm very pleased with it.........get what you need for what you anticipate usage.

Much appreciated That size is exactly what I was looking for, I by no means am a heavy user so this sounds perfect

I look into it, thank you

I got the same one as studunk but the walmart version that's called better built. I signed up for a walmart card and I got 35 bucks off and 0% for 6 months I believe for the box and the hardware. I'm pretty sure I paid like 127 after the 35 off. It was ridiculously cheap. I don't make a lot of money so I have to save where I can. It's pretty decent for the price. It's a little thinner than I expected. The locked and latches worked when I got it but I adjusted it a little and it worked way better.

Same box in my DCSB. Wanted it short so it wouldn’t take up more of my bed than necessary, low profile so it wouldn’t obscure my rear view. Happy, just looking for a container to fit under it to maximize storage for camping trips.

I have a Tractor Supply cheapo toolbox I got for $180 that fits between the wheel wells and is just below the top of the bed. It's 19" wide by 32" long if I remember right. I think Weather Guard makes a steel one about the same size too but that one was around $500 I think. That's what I was originally gonna get.
