Kobalt or whatever the cheap brand from Lowe’s or Home Depot is. I got caught without my tools one time (I leave a box in my cab for oh shit moments) and someone else had a set of those. Worst fitting tools I’ve ever used, and there was so much ratchet play that I could barely get things to move before I was out of rotational space.

Craftsman 165 (?) pc set for regular stuff. Does most of what I need for now, plus its really handy to throw the whole case in the truck on trips.

Impact sockets, torque wrenches and a few other thing I get from Tekton. Very impressed with them so far. And they always seem to be adding more inventory

Kobalt and husky have been decent. And I actually like their ratchets as opposed to Craftsman.

I have a mix of stuff. Lots of older craftsman, some SK, some snap-on, and others. Lately I have been using Tekton and those are pretty good, and cheap.

I have a set of Craftsman with the big laser etched numbers that I got as a Christmas present. They are paired with Harbor Freight deep impact sockets, which have been working fine, helping LOTS of people put on lifts, do brakes, etc.

I'm very interested in the products that Wera makes, but it seems they are for smaller stuff (1/4" ratchets, etc.)?

Snap-on tools. Took me 7 years to pay that man off. Could have bought another Tacoma for the amount I gave him. Tools will last forever, and be handed down to my oldest son.

Most of the sets are 6point

Anymore I just buy the size sockets I use like drill bits.

I have been very good at not buying tools these last few years .

This can literally take apart almost our whole truck (all the right sizes for literally any job you’d need to do). It stays in my truck 24/7. Doesn’t take up much space. It’s handy enough to use as my main sockets and as my “wheelin/campin” sockets.

I’ve switched from Craftsman to Husky or Kobalt. Before Lowe’s carried Craftsman, they were the easiest to acquire for a decent price with quality tool. Craftsman has gone down over the years, their power tools have always been meh at best. Husky has been my go to for wrenches and ratchets the last few years. Cheaper then Kobalt to replace a lost socket and they have held up well.

That said; Kobalt is the truck socket set. Husky in the wood shop. My first Craftsman’s and first tool set (at age 14) is in the garage tool box.

I pretty much got rid of my mixed and match hodge podge set of sockets and went all Gear Wrench.. My parents neighbor is a dealer and I was lucky enough to see his tool truck. That helped my decision after seeing quality without having to buy a set first. I'm happy with the socket set

    This.

I guess I didn’t really take into mind a tight budget. Older craftsman, s•k, snap on or MAC are truly bomb proof. Things were made better back then. I have several Stanley sweetheart planes from eBay and I haven’t been disappointed. As long as you make purchases that have good pix, there shouldn’t be an issue.

Same here. Been adding to my socket and wrench sets for years and years. Craftsman products were always made well and very durable. Multiple sets of wrench’s, deep and shallow 3/8”, deep and shallow 1/4” and 1/2” impact set. Also have Allen and torx sockets. Definitely know they’ll last me the rest of my life and beyond.
