Who on here knows how to weld? I want to learn how to weld. Anyone willing to teach? I'm willing to buy the equipment.

What kind of welding? Lots of different kinds, stick, mig, tig, oxy-acetelyne, even brazing comes in handy at times. There's a thread titled "anything welding" you should probably sub.

I mean, I'd do it at home if I could, but it's a little more difficult in an apartment garage.

Charlie's car was in Alameda? I think its a bit expensive too and they tend to rush the cleaning, especially on the inside.

Oh, there's two parts, ones the self wash and clean and the other is the you pay someone to do it. I do it myself cause I need the money for more tacoma parts.

Yeah I get it, I'm just complaining since I'd like to use it more often, but $1/min makes it hard to do much without spending $20. At which point you could just pay some other car wash place to do it for you.

Check your local community college. My Dad and brother both took courses at ours and they’re both pretty good welders now. I suck so I let them do all my stuff.

Thanks for the tip! Just did some quick research and looks like Chabot ROP offer welding classes. I'm definitely going to check that out!

Yeah I mostly do it at home on the front lawn to save money. I get the Armor all kit from Ross for real cheap. It just takes a couple hours. I’ll pay every once in a while to get a nice clean because I’m cheap and wanna buy parts too.

Happy Fathers Day y’all. My wife decided it was her once a year duty to cook a meal. My daughter approves. May your grills be full of meats, your beers never ending and your kiddos laughter fill your hearts fellas.

Buy a good mig set up. Tons of good you tube videos. Lots of practice. There's a good thread on here with guys that will try to help with questions and tips. I self learned i. Not great but I have fun playing around and doing projects. If your looking to make it a career go take classes.

Yep. I got my training at College of Marin. Did a couple semesters. Never kept it up. Been years. Never was very good. Not enough training.

I'd say stick is the easiest to get your feet wet since there's no gas involved but I'm a noob as far as welding goes. For aluminum Tig is best though I've read of stick welding aluminum. Mig and Tig both are wire feed so it's a one handed operation. Oxy-acetylene is the most versatile, go anywhere, cut and weld but maybe hardest to master? I took a welding course years ago from a guy who worked on the Hetch Hetchy pipeline and still do some brazing using MAPP but that's about it.
