Any MA members that are anglers, I do a lot of bank fishing going to try doing some more surfcasting this year as well. I wanted to start this thread as a tool for us to share information, trade/sell fishing related items and possibly make new fishing buddies.

I Live in Boston, but I usually travel south or west of Boston to do bass fishing. I fish mostly on the weekends, Some of my favorite spots last year were long pond, Parts of the Charles River, and Lake Cochituate. I plan on going out this weekend not sure where yet but I'll post up some pics of what I catch!

Huge Bass fisherman here. I live in Western MA and go fishing every weekend. I have a 17 foot G3 bassboat, a 10 foot pelican pontoon boat for smaller bodies or water and a future beach discovery angler 12.4 kayak for stealthy missions..... I love Lake Lashaway in Brookfield, thousand acre swamp in New Marlboro, and Webster lake. Every year my best bud and I choose a big body of water to go to for a week. We have been to lake winnipesaukee in NH, Lake Onieda in NY, Lake Champlain in VT, and we are going to candlewood Lake in CT this year.

Im in the next town over from @crashngiggles

I try to get as much in, as possible, usually my middle daughter comes with.
Bank fishing myself. No real time to invest in anything else.
Back home, surf casting mostly, but, also flounder in the flats, etc.

Are you happy with the G3 boat? I’ve got a 10 or 12 foot Jon boat and always looked to make a jump to a true metal bass boat but they’re pricey and I’m never sold on one particular brand/model etc.
Also always liked the idea of an older, smaller center console.

OP - I mostly fly fish for trout locally and within New England (CT and ME a few times a year) but I do bass fish a bit. Do a trip to Quabbin a few times a year and hit a bunch of local ponds from shore or if they have a launch, throw the Jon boat out there.

I am very happy with it. I bought it used with my buddy for $3600. It has a 40 hp Yamaha on it and it does everything we need it to do. In all honesty, the brand really doesnt matter until you go really big, like a Triton or a Basscat. The biggest thing is the motor. If you take care of it .....it will take care of you. I have been caught in the south pond of congamond lake and needed a tow to the launch at the north pond in the past with previous watercraft that I have owned. The G3 has never let me down though. I can do a top speed of about 30 and I could tow a tube if i wanted. We are now looking to trade up to a fishing 18 foot pontoon boat.

I'm in southern NH and troll coldwater species primarily. Always happy to have someone join me on any of the big lakes in NH and Maine.
