Find a rack from a junkyard. You want an OEM rack. You may be able to find a rebuilt one on EBay but you don't want an Autozone or other parts store one. They are probably fine on a stock truck but with bigger tires and offroading, they just don't last. I don't have personal experience with aftermarket racks, just going by others experiences with them. You can build yours but will need a few specialty tools. The rebuild kit is just replacing o-rings but they didn't make it easy to do. I bought a rebuild kit then found a junkyard rack and went that route instead of buying specialty tools. Although I'll probably end up with them anyway because I still have my original rack and don't want to throw it away. If it's a small leak and you're looking for a temp fix, power steering leak stop works great but it won't much help a big leak. I'd consider a big leak parking your truck in the driveway and finding a leak spot on the ground shortly after.

Also once you get a new rack, consider using better fluid. Just like engine and trans fluid, not all power steering/brake fluid is created equal. Amsoil and Redline come to mind for me. These oils will keep your fluid cooler, make your seals last longer and keep your steering easier, especially out on the trails. Just food for thought ....

Fellow Tennesseans...where would one go to get a body mount chop in middle TN? I'm comfortable chopping it myself, but I have no welding experience, so I'd probably just have it all done somewhere (in Nashville preferably). Any places you'd heartily recommend?

Kerleyfab will hook that shit up. Order the fill plates and I’ll do it for $80 one afternoon or on the weekend.

FWIW: I’m doing mine soon and plan on just leaving it open. A bunch of us run chopped cab mounts with no fill plates
