Not sure if this has been discussed yet so here it is from me. I just purchased my new 19 Tacoma OR DBLB and I had thought that drl's auto on are mandatory on any new vehicles but I guess I was wrong. Don't get me wrong it is on the stalk but it is not an auto turn on thing unless you have the duel climate control package (I think). Is this not weird for a new vehicle of any kind. Did not see this when I test drove it in the daytime. Kind of a big annoyance in any vehicle over 20g not to have this. My wife's 16 Colorado has it and my last vehicle 16 ford escape had it auto also. Was this just to get people to spend the extra 2500 to get climate and auto headlights. Wtf

Less crap to mulfunction lol. Agree though for the price you’d think that there will be standard options included free of charge.

Not the point I was trying to make. Most cars that have drl's have them turn on automatically and not the turn on with a switch. Yes I am aware that there is a switch to turn on headlights, but at this price point they really should turn on by themselves. My last car was 10 g lower than this and that had both. And the power seat thing, come on, really. Is this 2006? Not bitching, but kind of am. After reading about the low transmission fluid that is found in brand new trucks, not sure if quality is still there to justify price.

Sounds like you failed to research before paying for the truck, none of those complaints are hard to find. I didn’t realize it was so difficult to turn on headlights when it starts getting dark or starts raining.

Like I said, headlights not a big deal, but the dlr's I thought are mandatory in U.S for safety purpose. You honestly can't tell me you turn yours on every time you drive in daytime. Come on

Well, actually Led light are automatically on assume you leave the switch at the correct setting. And no they are not mandated as far as I know.

In Canada, motor vehicle regs are that they come on automatically, there is no option to turn off DRL. In US trucks, I believe your stalk control gives you the option to turn off the DRL, so simply leave the stalk control on the DRL on position, and problem solved. It now automatically comes on when you start the vehicle.

The stalk has all the settings in this order from bottom up, off, drl, parking light, headlight. There is no point to use the drl setting then, either have switch off or on for just the headlights I guess. Would have thought that there would be a mod to keep drl's on at all times since they are there.

I would guess you have the duel climate package with your truck. That comes with the auto lights on setting also. I guess it's a convenience package for more money. Maybe I'm wrong
