They run forever, but you're a Toyota guy so I don't have to tell you that :D I think it's actually a pretty fun truck to drive with the 5spd, although I wouldn't mind having a supercharged 3.4L.

over the past several months of taking note in my area I have ran across 4 (including the totaled one)
the other 3 had a ton of body panel perforations, but still running fairly well (the one for sale on used lot was questionable)
not sure how other parts of the country are faring with these in different climates

is there a registry somewhere to find out how many have become 'salvage' titles

That one should be easy to add I think. Everything is in the stalk/switch. So the only thing you need is to replace the wiper switch for the version with intermittent function. I believe the plug should be the same.

You got my hopes up, only to have them quickly dashed when I got the stalk dismounted.

No plug and play... soldered wires.

    Cue the sad trombone.

Ha, sorry. Now I understand why on Ebay they sell the set of wiper switch + turn signal switch. For example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/95-97-Toyo...ffe2ae10|iid:1&_trksid=p2481888.c100970.m5481

There are many restrictions what model it will fit, so I would just get the switch and re-solder it (Frankenstein it :)) but it's just me.

Just got this beauty. 232K on it, previously from AZ, now in Iowa. It’s the least rusty like it I’ve seen. I got it for 2600, and so far I can’t wait to see how long it will go for.

I’m in pleasant hill, I was hoping to get a spray in bed liner, it actually came with topper and carpeted bed . I really appreciate your offer. I’m not sure if it’s been repainted but the hood and roof need redone

The wiper stalk is "plug n play" but the connections are at the base of the steering column. If you follow that wiring harness down you'll see where it plugs in and, I'd bet, there are empty spots for the extra wires that the intermittent stalk requires. That said, I have had to replace both my wiper switch and my light switch but was unable to de-pin the connectors, so I just cut and soldered. It's just a matter of removing the air bag and the trim pieces on the column to access the wires.

Just finished a 5500+ mile trip home in my old lady (still haven't named her yet). Here's a few truck pics from the road.

    Sequoia
    IMG_0763.jpgTaos, NM
    IMG_0851.jpg Long Beach, MS
    IMG_0902.jpg Blue Ridge Parkway

The only place in my travels where this vintage of Tacoma was somewhat common was New Mexico.

The truck operated beautifully. I changed the oil/filter, and gapped the plugs before the trip. I thoroughly cleaned the engine bay, and cleaned and waxed the truck. I haven't even opened the hood since. I didn't measure mileage, but there were several 15 hour driving days when I only had to fill up the tank twice.

Whining section: wipers, tach (the ratios with a 3.58 diff are so weird), seat belt, one-piece rear windshield, manual windows.

Parts that need work: bent rotors, front suspension boots are all broken, hard start @ operating temp, and it's time to do fluids again.

Overall, I'm super happy with this truck. Zero regrets.

I didn't know there were so many variables in 1995 Tacomas. The 1995 LX extra cab I sold my brother in law (6/95) had 3.4 V6, auto on collum, 2WD, no clock, factory sunroof, A/C, no intermittent wipers, power steering, power brakes, manual windows, manual door locks, 60/40 split bench in grey cloth with moveable armrest, AM/FM/Cassette, and a factory rear sliding window.

The truck I sold my brother in law. All body panels are beat to hell but have original paint and all stickers still there. Hood is the original hood. 20190619_142953.jpg 20190619_143034.jpg Very weird manufactured 8/95, registered as a 1995, and has a 1995 emissions sticker. It should be a 1996.

    In my 30 year career in the automotive business, including the mid 1990's, when ordering parts a 5/95 is a 1995, a 6/95 is a 1996. A 5/92 is a 1992, a 6/92 is a 1993. Etc...

any of you 95.5s ever wait as long as I have to take your original plastic bedliner off? mine was dealer installed and just came off today for the first time in 265 months
... not too bad under there, no perforations, just a few spots on top of the rails were starting to oxidize and plenty of scrapes to bare metal on the floor and top of wheels
It had seen many winters with snow and ice piled high back there (parked outdoors during snowstorms) until it melted (or was able to spray it all out in sub-freezing temps)
... any of you have never taken it off yet?
