OK, I’ll raise your twin turbo V6 to a diesel twin turbo V6 with dual smoker stacks in the bed. Show them or fold o_O

It's not a question of is there a market. Toyota would have to charge 3 x parts and labor to maintain margin. Are they going to build them? If not are you going to pay $3000 for a bullet you canbuy online for $1000? Then they would have to warranty those parts knowing they designed it to be used in extreme conditions. Where would they stock all those parts? Warehouse space is expensive. No incentive. High cost.

Not enough to afford the tooling costs and training techs how to service them.

Not to mention the legal issues someone already outlined.

But the concept is why some dealers slap on pretty boy poseur parts. So the inept can roll out the door looking bad boy, AND they can finance it.

Problem is, those changes are not Toyota warrantied. Those parts are warrantied by the provider of the parts and the dealer may, or may not, include some labor warranty. And like many 'free service forever' (which are dealer) warranties, you are now married to that dealer and have to have every Toyota recommended service done there, on time, or the warranty gets tossed.

So to your question. It's a horrid business idea. Toyota sells plenty based on cupholders and road manners to those who need occasional 4wd for snow, a bed for mulch and tow a pop up to KOA.

Why add a machine to be flogged to the mix?

I wouldn't bite. If I'm dropping that much cash, I'd want a really custom setup. The concept of a highly customized taco is great - its literally a dream I am working on in my driveway. In general, putting 33s or 35s on a taco is going to hurt the gas mile enough that the truck will be less desirable. I think altering the design to make that possible without chopping/cutting would be desirable. Then again, this level of customization is only for the select few. Kinda like how I constantly bring up the fact that I'd like toyota to make a double cab, 6ft bed manual tacoma... which only myself and like three other people would pay for. Everyone else would call me an idiot for not getting a full sized truck. The point is, TW is an echo chamber for people who love their tacos, and it often breeds the ideology that all taco owners what something super custom, which is not the case. As long as a healthy aftermarket exists for tacos, I'll be fine.

So that is what you need to do to a Tacoma to really screw it up. I see. Thanks for that one. Pass!
