Hey guys! I bought my Tacoma from a great dealer back in June and figured out accidentally that it had a remote start after owning it about 2 weeks. Super dope find as you can imagine, pretty sure the dealer did not know it had one because to turn it on, you tap the lock 3 times and it was not listed in the features.

My fob just died and I need a new one, just curious if there is an extra step to programming a new one with this remote start. I have no idea what kind it is, like I said, had no idea it even existed. Can I just buy the new one off Amazon and do the steps normally? I guess I could just buy it try but wanted to make sure I was not missing anything.

WAIT>>> for real!? hahah. Ive had to buy fobs for cars in the past as replacements, not batteries. It honestly has never crossed my mind to do so. That is so funny, okay going to look into that now.

Does this trick work with stuff like laptops? I’ve been buying a new computer each time the battery runs out. This will save me thousands

Shouldn't it beep when the battery is low? LOL

A while back, my freezer started beeping and showed 6 on the display. I thought, "Oh crap, my freezer died." I googled it and found out there's a 9V battery. The 6 is really a lower case b. Who would have thought that a freezer would have a battery?

My key fob battery is getting weak, it only works if I’m very close to the truck. As far as I can remember, I have never replaced it since I purchased the truck brand new in 2010. Pretty incredible that it lasted 9 years!!
