What exactly does a add-a-leaf do? Ive read some people say it will add carrying capacity others say it will not, some have said it adds stability when carrying a load.

Nothing. Adds height at first. Harsh ride, sags when towing or hauling anything heavier than a bicycle.

Replacement leaf pack for the Toyota stock leafs are the best option. Throw the OEM leafs in the garbage.

Gives some lift and helps add carry capacity, but just like NEW leaf packs, over time they will settle.

I bought super spring first. It did little to help. Waste of money. Went to a local spring shop and had two more proper leafs made and installed. it made the truck sit higher for sure so had a 2.25" lift put in the front end. All good now plus I can put a ton in the back now and it barely squats. It's my work truck so a plush ride is not important.

    Respectfully disagree.

I've had a 2" AAL for a 2-3 years now, and it hasn't sagged at all, and the rear end still has some positive rake when hauling my dirt bike, and gear (roughly 400 lbs). It did firm up the rear a bit, but IMO, it's a benefit, not a drawback. The truck rides more like a truck now. Firm, but not harsh.

I agree with you hear. it adds height as well as add a little capacity, now depending on what brand AAL you buy will be the big difference between it sagging prematurely or it holding up strong.
