Deleting spacers and installing new shocks/springs

    Folks,

My 2007 2nd gen tacoma 4x4 regular cab came to me with a 3" spacer kit (spacers on the springs up front, and blocks for the rear leafs). I want to take them out because the truck is top-heavy and does not ride great. I also installed an ARB bull bar up front, which folks said would bring the front height down. I personally have not noticed it affecting driving performance or braking.

So far, I have bought Bilstein 5100's and OME 884s. I also bought 4x factory spec U bolts. I will ask a local shop to compress the OME springs and install them on the 5100's shocks. I myself will remove the Toyota factory shocks and springs, and take out the rear lift blocks. I will have an alignment done after, too.

I want the ride height as close to stock. The truck sits on Michelin P265/70R17 tires.

    Questions:
    1. I hear that sometimes people adjust the differential with a spacer or something. Where else should I look to make sure I remove all the old lift kit?
    2. Which setting on the shock should I set them to?
    3. How much lift do you expect that I will end up with when I finish the install?
    4. Do I need any other parts (leafs or anything)?

Thanks for helping me out, ya'll.

    Cheers,

    Reinhardtius

For questions 2 and 3: If you're going for stock height just keep the 5100s at 0. Other than the diff drop, check for a carrier bearing drop. You most likely don't need new leafs unless they're totally shot.
