I do it when downshifting, especially smooth if skipping more than one gear. Don't see the need really when upshifting.

I double clutch/rev match all my downshifts for easier engagement.
I replaced the original transmission oil with MT90 at 1500 miles for smoother shifting when cold. I was living in New York at the time. I recently serviced all the fluids and with fresh MT90 it shifting smoother once again. IMG_20190308_123136362_HDR.jpg

    Apropos of nothing,

I got rear ended. Guy in like some crossover/minivan type thing. He felt bad, said he had just got the thing and didn't realize how shitty the brakes were. Strange enough, the contact was entirely between his front license plate and my tow hitch. Worked out perfectly. Not a scratch on ze taco.

    Anyhoo.

Ok think I found a solution..actually found a couple. One on the way, should have it by the end of the week. This is the easier of the two, hope it works!
    Will keep you updated.

I’m so over this Hurst knob. Why they have been popular for so many years is a mystery to me. Hated the one in my 67 Camaro too. The knob is too small and the lock nut is uncomfortable.

That is what I like about my @7r41lbr34k3r knob. Just smooth to curl my hand around.

Alright folks found a easy solution for the @7r41lbr34k3r shift knob on the Core/Hurst shifter.

    Looked around for a few days for a 3/8 16 to 12 x 1.25 adapter, nothing.
So I planned on machining out the knob rethreading and installing a time sert, really didn’t want to go this route.
In searching for the Hurst thread size to double check before ordering the time sert this popped up.
    BBE396F3-BA47-455A-8354-2E6BBDC30CDC.jpg

Wait...what... all the searching why didn’t this come up before? Whatever who cares. Ordered from Summit. Turns out 2004 and up Mustangs have the 12 x 1.25 thread and have the same issue when using a Hurst shifter.

    Oh yeah, back in action!
    Even better than before
