What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Looks awesome! What grit did you use? Did you clear coat after the paint?

 

Installed Matt Gecko under hood LED’s. Pretty straight forward. One of the better “Mods” I have done under the hood the other Redline gas struts and the cooling panel. Don’t know if the panel helps the cooling but it gives a finished appearance and a place to lay the tools. Why Toyota didn’t put struts and the panel on as OE is beyond me. Tomorrow Matt Gecko bed lights don’t know if I will feel like going under the truck but we will see. Then put a switch in to kill the DTRL or kill them and add some LED DTRL’s

 

@whatstcp I just ordered a front WIY bumper from Coastal Off-road tonight any advice or tips please pass them along.

 

My auxbeam lights are actually brighter and have lasted longer than my cali raised. Just sayin...

 

800 and no clear. I used Rust-Oleum 2X black flat spray paint.

 

Looks awesome... Did you paint the the screw heads or replace them? I don't have SCS wheel so I don't know if they're removable or not.

 

Where’d the panel come from?

 

Thanks for letting me know. These are Auxbeam lights. I had planned to upgrade to Rigid lights once these wore out, but with the lowest price option being $150 pair, it's tough to justify.

Oh, Rigid is legit. I'd have them too if I could afford it. Probably Baja Designs though

2. open bag remove bottle
3. open bottle remove contents
4. install bag over shifter

in retrospect perhaps # 3 & #4 should be reversed........

ABS EZ to work with..cuts like glass..ie score itwith a sharp blade and snap....to bend heat it carefully and bend it to shape..hold it there till it cools and it retains the bend

Weather was finally nice enough for me to swap out the OEM 3rd Brake light. Took all of 10 minutes. Old gasket came off easily. Not too much residue to clean up and new gasket and light assembly fit perfectly. Applied some wax to the light as well as around the area I had used adhesive remover and alcohol to clean up/prep for the install.

Edited - I forgot to add that I did use a razor blade to enlarge/reshape the 2 screw holes in the gasket to be square to match those green plastic screw things (forget what they are called) as they protrude slightly and the gasket had a slight hump in those spots.

 

I installed an Icon Stage IV lift kit, had it aligned, and put on some 285/75/16s!!! They are STUFFED in there. I had to do some trimming and remove that front little plastic air deflector thing on each side but it's not rubbing anymore. I haven't done full deflection tests yet but I'm sure I'll rub somewhere!
