@mhoadley talk to your brother on paint removal before he welds if he is better than me (which most people are) you will remove minimal paint.

I don't ever want to paint the bottom of my trailer again:rofl:
I figured I'd do it right the first time.... Which is only still about 80% true:eek::rolleyes:

Probably would have been easier to dig a pit than roll it. But you won't have to fill it back in after.

Two houses ago, the attached garage had a pit. Sigh.

@Skierrichy are you going home made trailer route?
    https://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=804&q=244902

Not sure how I'm going to qualify for the 3 rule unless I have the axle rebuilt, or springs replaced. Don't believe I need either.
I've got the body as 1, the trailer frame as 2. Stumbling on 3.

What is the link again to those no-axle, axles you did. Maybe that's my 3.

Cripes - Hamden or Weathersfield for inspections of home built. Only those 2 DMV in the state. JFC. Not so bad for you, over an hour each way for me + DMV waits = an entire day. I may have to reconsider this.

They make different weight ratings so research.
I did end up buying mine through e-trailer.com
They are a little tricky and sort of pricy.
You most likely will need to order metal too.
I attached 4"*3" 1/4 inch angle iron to the trailer and then attached the suspension to the angle iron.
I can help alot with it but first figure out if that's what you want.
There are other things to do.

I was lucky to purchase mine in CT then register then turn it into home built.

The plan is to quickly grind down where the welds will be, on the frame and on the slider mounting plate. Looking to take off only what is required, then a nice prime and paint job, over those welds and along the frame.

When it comes to welding on a car, I know disconnecting the battery and a good ground to the welder is key. What about the ecu? Is there something else I need to disconnect to ensure I don’t fry anything?

Some do. I've welded on a few ECU vehicles without issue. Look at exhaust shops, they don't even disconnect the battery. Just have the ground close to the weld area and a very clean contact spot. I had to put a few spot welds on my truck on the aftermarket bumper and didn't run into any issues.

All I have ever done is disconnect the battery,
Some people also do the ECU but I've never had a problem and I've welded on it 3 times so far.
    Up to you man.
May want to use 2 or more Jack's like I was doing, careful on placement:thumbsup:

Well, as luck would have it, the wife's last job moved corporate headquarters and left behind 4 beautiful 4x8 raised garden beds (gotta be beautiful for corporate, right?) used as a community garden. Only 1 year, old AND I get all the nice dirt they purchased with it... Saved me a cool grand... All I gotta do is go get em now...

    Good morning!

Cruised up to Lake George yesterday after the games. Really cool place. Prospect mountain has some bad ass views!
