Copy. I'll poke around once it cools off and post here if I find it.

Thanks! I was thinking that was the location of "under the dash", I was hoping not to have to actually pull the dash haha. That's a much easier place to work with.

Congrats on finding the problem....you had me worried about putting in the front camera setup that I had already bought...

In 2003, we bought a 2003 Highlander and the dealer had installed one of those alarms. I found out that by them doing that, it nixes the "Toyota Factory" Warranty. So I took it back to the dealer and had them remove their alarm wiring. I then went to Youtube and found I just needed to find two factory wires, connect them and I had a Factory Alarm! :transformer:

Dealer wanted to up sell me on an alarm system. I said no, truck comes with an oem alarm anyway. Doing some work on the lower driver panel and noticed that they left the alarm unit box in and it was still wired up. They must have not activated it - since I refused to pay the $450 they wanted for it. I know they are a dime a dozen and the wiring jobs are not great. Didn't mess with it and left it in.

Anyone here know what exactly they do when they don't sell/activate one of these? Would they have given me an additional FOB for it? Or did they just pull the alarm fuse? Curious...I may have to take a closer look when it's not burning up outside...

It depends on what they installed. I doubt they installed a full blown alarm. It’s probably just some type of ignition kill/disable. A lot of those are basically just a timer relay and if the ignition is turned on too fast and tried to be started it would kill the ignition. some have a switch you can mount somewhere to kill the ignition. Some are GPS controlled. Tons of different options. Not exactly sure what type the port company is using. If you take a picture of the unit I can help you out.

I had the EXACT same "all of a sudden my shit isn't starting" issue when I was pulling out the connector for a brake controller. I was about to suggest to check the wiring for the "alarm", but I'm glad you found it. My connector is crimped together with the tube style connectors, need to solder it one of these days to prevent this crap from happening again.

Hey bud. Ever find that purple wire? Found a plug out of a socket, I was told by someone on here it’s for the trailer brake switch. Looking right now but not seeing anything cut. Any idea?
