    Hey all,

    I have a blue 2018 SR5.

I want to put some black wheels/rims on my truck.

The stock wheels I have I believe are 16".

I want to go bigger without having to trim or get a lift.

I was thinking of getting some 17" TRD sport wheels and plasti dipping them black but i'm not sure if only increasing size by 1" is going to be noticeable?

What is the most economical way to get black rims that look big for my tacoma.

I can get a set of those 17" TRD sport rims + tires for $500 on craigslist which seems like the best deal if my budget is $500.

    Thanks!

I'd probably just put fatter tires on it. You have those big flares and it looks like it skipped leg day.

Do those fender flares replace the stock flares or stick on atop the stock flares?

    Welcome to the forum.

I think your truck looks fine as is. But if you're going to change tires and wheels, I suggest that you look at the propsed new tires and wheels side by side with your existing wheels.

I hope that you also realize that a 17 inch setup doesn't necessarily look bigger than a 16 inch setup. Tire width and sidewall profile both have a significant impact on appearances.

There is a tire size calculator in the mods and tutorials tab at the top of the page that may help you with visualization.

Good luck ! Please post pictures if you decide to change tires and wheels.

I’m looking to do the same thing. I think I’m going to dip the wheels black and see how I like them

Id go TRD Pro wheels or aftermarket.

The sport and OR wheels dont do anything for me over the SR5 wheels.

No thank you for letting me know this information. That means there is no point to me buying a set of those since it isn't actually an upgrade.

Thank you so much for the information and I am glad to be on the forum.

I am most likely just going to stick with my current wheel and tire combo and plasti dip them black.

I will post pics when I am done.

    Cheers!

    They do look great.

What is the differnce of the 4runner vs the tacoma?

And im thinking to get a full set of 4 it is going to be quite expensive.. over $1200 most likely

Yeah, either the 4runner Pro or the Tacoma Pro wheels are sweet.

Even the 4runner offroad wheels are better than the Tacoma wheels.
