Like I said, your local auto parts store might have them in their tool rental program. They might be under battery cable/terminal crimpers. That would be nice if they floated them in their stores, Home Depot that is. I'm sure it would be a high theft item sitting shy of 4g's for a 1 use item. Lol.

Edit: Ill probably end up getting this one when it comes time to make my Aux Power Panel: https://www.amazon.com/TEMCo-Hydrau...aulic+crimper&qid=1561336848&s=gateway&sr=8-7

After doing a little bit of research, this one has a more uniform crimp. Downside, is it will only crimp copper terminals, my guess is due to the softer metal. Ill have to do a bit more research on the benefits between copper vrs aluminum terminal ends. I'm guessing that copper wire to copper terminals would have less corrosion potential.

I know I already missed the scottalot likes train so I know he will miss this edit.

i have both the large and small hydraulic crimp tools shown from Amazon. they work well, but the dies are marked in MM2 (square mmm) where you’re used to AWG sizes.

i use then for crimping battery lugs on industrial batteries on forklifts, they work well, but you have to pay attention that you’ve got the right die in place, some i’ve had to go down in size once they are first compressed. Haven’t had a failure or issue yet, beats a hammer crimp tool and avoids the possibility of a cold solder joint (let alone many places require a hot work permit and that in itself is a PITA to get sometimes, especially just for minor solder work)

Yeah, I saw that they were MM and AWG. They probably have one thats properly sized for just AWG but my topical search didnt pull one quickly. I'm all about buying tools once and if I can find that coveted 'USA Made' stamp, that would be even better. Nothing against overseas products but they are known for cutting corners on cheap stamping or pot metal or whatever.

    Also, to be clear, their site states that they have dies for AWG: 6, 4, 3, 2, 1/0, 2/0, 4/0, MCM: 250, 300, 350, 500, 600

    Good price right?
It's not the heavier model but looks to be in pretty nice shape.

Here's one. You just have to look for a long enough time and be willing to be patient. Even the old ones like this are the same as the newer ones for the most part nothing has really changed with them over the years. This one is still being bid on but they rarely reach 1000 bucks. I've seen the old 5/4 Chevys go for 5000+ on the civilian market yet you could scoop them up at the gov't auctions for under 2g.

    Yep, you're signed up.

The brewery has added some upgrades to their facility, getting nicer every month.

Haven't heard from people like Scott....or Eddy.
