Trailer Hitch Thickness issues

    Sorry if this has been discussed but I don’t see it. Trying to run a hitch pin that I currently own but with the double wall thickness it does not fit. On my 08 I was able to use a unibit to open it up more. I started doing this a while ago but don’t want the entire holes opened up that much. Purchased a hitch safe on Amazon not long ago and tried to install over the weekend. Same issue with the outer wall being in the way. Curious if someone has an easier fix with specific dremel tool or something to open up just the outer layer? Thanks everyone!

    Because this is a Class IV hitch, it is thicker and needs a longer pin. Not advisable to machine the hitch in any way. Buy the longer pin.

    Ok guys thanks for the input. I already have a pin that will fit but was wanting to use another along with a hitch vault that I bought. Guess I’ll return the vault. I’ve had class 1V hitches on my other vehicles and none of them this thick. Thought it was more a Toyota hitch thing.
