TG only makes 4.7’s in 23 spline

Wow that's an oooooooooold 21 spline gear set.

Do you plan on r&r the bearings and seals? I'd recommend doing so.

So for the rear 21 spline 4.7....

You have a few options. (Cost $-$$$)

    1. Just run what you have and then later decide if it breaks, how to replace. Which is probably the most reasonable. (Free $)

    2. TG now only makes a 23spline 4.7 gear set. Not a bad option, few guys here are running the TG crawlbox setup with these 4.7 (some Inchworm boxes came with these as well) and no issues.
There have been a few reports to where some folks have snapped the input right where it "necks" down. It's considered to be a failure point by some. Factory 23 spline 2.28 has this same design. ($$)
    SmartSelect_20190605-065147_Chrome.jpg

    3. Marlin Crawler makes 2 different version of it's 4.7 gear design. This first option does not have the "neck" down design, instead they refer to it as a total spline design. Stating that this increases strength X amount. ($$)

Currently in stock, but does not stay in stock long fyi.
    SmartSelect_20190605-064945_Chrome.jpg

    4. Marlin Crawler's second option is the 23 spline 4.7 competition chromoly. Again, does not have the "neck" down design. IMO the strongest 23 spline 4.7 option out there, and what I currently run in my crawlbox. ($$$)

Currently in stock, but does not stay in stock long fyi.
    SmartSelect_20190605-065009_Chrome.jpg

Hope that helps, not cheap, but there are still a few options out there.

Well looks like im down to 1 option. Ill keep it all as 21 spline until something brakes.
Ill install new gaskets but all the bearings look good. Whats R&R? sorry kinda new to this gearing stuff..
Also what brand would you recommend for the adapter plate? Looks like there are a ton of different option.

R&R is just repair & replace

Also what adaptors is everyone using for r150f to gear driven case? so far found all the following options and not sure which I need.
https://www.marks4wd.com/50-5708.html - They are selling Advance Adapter's kit for looks like double the price
https://www.advanceadapters.com/pro...o-21-spline-gear-drive-transfer-case-adapter/ - Advance Adapters makes quality stuff. I'd suggest this Marlin Crawler is currently out of stock.
https://www.offroadsolutions.com/products/transmission-to-rh-transfer-case-adapter/ -They are just a distrubtor for Marlin Crawler, just buy direct from MC. They are however not in stock.
    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIgMDa95rQ4gIVU5JbCh2gnA0pEAQYASABEgLUxPD_BwE - They are a distrubtor for Trail-gear
https://www.trail-gear.com/tacoma-t-case-adapter-plate-kit.html - Buy from Marlin Crawler and Advance Adapters before Trail-gear.

I just talked to Kyle at Marlin. He said that all of the parts needed to build the Tacobox are now replenished and in stock. Mine should go out by the end of next week.

    Super excited over here:dancingbacon::broccoli::goingcrazy:

I picked up the Taco from my buddy's shop a few days ago and I have some brand new bits to show off! Couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! Might just be the first waterproof triple stick crawlbox out there

Along with the new center console I had him install a proper mounting plate between the front IFS skid and Bumper, Plus a new crossmember for the crawl box.

omg, this looks friggin amazing. Can you elaborate on how you went about this? Also where did you get your boots from? How did you make that center gap filler area in the shifter area?

cancelled Marlin order. Check will be sent in "2 weeks" (quotes because I've been cried wolf to one too many times)

Going to order a TG box.

I know the feeling...I'm sure I said this earlier in this thread but I basically waited a year hearing the same boy who cried wolf stories.

Cancelled my order and went with TG. It was on my doorstep a week after placing the order.

Are you concerned about vibration/rattles? Seems tight for drivetrain movement/twist?
