My wife and I are going to be kid free the last weekend of June. Looking for options. We may be dropping the kids off in Kansas City and then heading out from there. Looking at overland routes or cool things to go see with our Tacoma north of Kansas City. Any suggestions?

There’s not a lot north of KC, at least that I know off. I’m pretty sure most of it is still underwater.

I’d download Gaia and use the forest service maps and see what’s up that way.

you got that right, drove up the river side In Iowa (by the ski resort!!) tonight to do some troubleshooting, Crescent to Missouri Valley, the water came all the way to the train tracks, i think that is several miles out of the river banks! ... or it might be standing water ... on i29 north of Council Bluffs on the south bound lanes they still had the road closed with a pump trying to drain the median! ... it was there a few days ago ... the water must be coming up from the damned ground!

how far north? CWS is in town for the next couple weeks so lots of traffic I suppose
i35 to Des Moines is most likely open for business or are you looking for state highways?

    did you find anything?
All I can think of is the Loess Hills scenic byway
and a very nice see-through bridge over the river at Decatur

probably not as nice as the one in Las Vegas, but that one in NV has probably gone downhill with age since I was there in late '95
