DCourts and I peeked underneath the plastic when I bought it and it seemed that there was some kind of protectant coating on the bed so it would be a good thing to take a look at the whole thing just to see condition but I would probably be surprised if I saw any kind of rust considering he babied it and kept it nice in the garage.

Form the pictures its all black. So he must've paid something to have the whole thing painted. I mean the door jams are black as well.

I guess I'd have to check under some panels when I first start taking it apart.

Yeah that sounds like it, got my mustang done by a brand new MACCO, not a good idea, Father's idea, and it was like 700 for outside, no jams or engine bay. Crappy job, didn't prime the front bumper so it started flaking off, and I could easily see overspray and tape still left on.

DCourts said the original owner was old, registered it for his work vehicle (lumber), so it obviously wasn't used for towing. He probably could t go around the lumber yard in a baby blue taco

did your VIN research indicate if it was originally equipped with steel wheels or the alloys?
