2017 taco ?

i just bought my 2017 Tacoma double cab about a week ago and I’m wanting to add a 10 or 12 sub to it. I’ve been looking at the taco tunes stuff and kinda like it. I was just wondering if there is anything else out there that is just as good, better, or more wallet friendly. THANKS

 

This is what I did in my '17. Image Dynamics IDQ-10 in a 1cu ft sealed box stuffed with polyfill. I recommend it.

Are you still running the factory head unit

 

Did you make that box or buy it somewhere?

 

I made the box. 1/2" birch plywood. Wanted 3/4" but to get the internal air space couldn't do it. Wrapped in vinyl.

Here are the dimensions I used:

 

Not using the factory deck. Using the Pioneer AVH-X5800BHS.

 

I used 6mm (1/4 inch) plywood in mine, but then I also layed down a layer of fiberglass inside along with some 1/2 square sticks for extra support.

 

Yeah I had to do some bracing inside. The fiberglass is a great solution. Might take mine out and lay some fiberglass all around the interior. Great idea!
