hey guys I really need some help here my Tacoma started making this rattling noise on the passenger side and it’s driving me insane! It only occurs when I accelerate the truck usually between 2-3 RPMs. I think it’s coming from the speaker on the passenger door but I can’t pin point it... please help!

Have you checked the seatbelt? I had a rattle and it was the seatbelt rattling against the side pillar.

Try sitting in the passenger seat while accelerating your truck. Should get better fedility on where it is coming from

I had a similar rattle that i thought was in my glove box or passenger door and it was something in my passenger seat. A buckle or a staple or something. I leaned it back a bit and it stopped.

There are numerous threads on this. I took it into my dealer and had them put foam backing around the speaker. It’s usually a piece of plastic that rattles. The new replacement piece for the passenger speaker also has the foam on it already. If it’s covered under warranty just let them know.

My passenger seat had the tendency to not lock in place after being adjusted. Only the inside rail would lock, leaving the outside rail to rattle. Try adjusting the seat and then pushing it into place, or sitting on it to lock-in the outside rail. My dealer said this was common between models...

    Good luck!

It’s not the dash rattling I put my hand all over up there and it doesn’t stop it. It’s only when accelerating. I’ll give moving the seat a try...

Mine was internal. Pushing it from the top or side does nothing. You have to take the speaker off.

Mine does this too but I figured it out. In my case I slide the seat forward one notch and the rattling stops.

Likely not related, ,but this past winter my truck was rattling from somewhere deep inside the dash (i.e around the radio) but only when cold and on certain surfaces. I could put my hand on the dash, but it didn't subdue the rattling. Root cause is likely somewhere under the dashboard

Make sure the mud flaps are tight. I know it sounds stupid but I had a slight noise and I thought it was in the kick panel. Couple of turns with the ole 10 mm socket and gone.
