questions guys and gals. I have a 2017 Tacoma with the v-6 and am having a couple issues. I have 20,000 miles on her and it idles very sporadic when in park. Any ideas will help.

Also, it seems when I’m doing 45-50, it feels like the transmission is missing and seems to jerk a little. Odd but don’t know if there’s a recall. Thanks any info will help

My brand new 2018 felt jerky at 45-50mph as soon as I drove it home. It almost felt like it was "missing" or when a carburetor needed cleaning in an old truck years ago.

I was told it was normal by the dealer and the regional service advisor. And I believe that to be the case, after reading all the reports of it on TW.

Ok thx that helps. The jerking is exactly what it does but the idling I’m guessing is possibly the K&N induction just sucking more air. Idk bitty guys I feel so much better

Mine used to miss at idle when I ran 87 octane. California...I’ve been running 89 for the last 20k miles. No more rough idle. My experience.

There's another thread here that lists all the Technical Service Bulletins for the 3rd gens. I'm too new here to know how to link it... I found it very helpful, and mine behaves the same way. I plan to ask the dealer to check into which ones have been addressed on my truck at my first service. The way I read the related threads (which the poster kindly also linked!) it is a mostly driver comfort issue and not any risk to the truck, but I am NOT a mechanic so someone else may be more helpful there.

More or less and advisory instead of recall. When I mention TSB to my service guy, I basically get an eye roll and a silent muttering of "another TW member"

Short answer is....yes we are aware but not doing shit about it, unless its broke. Otherwise....it's normal.

I dont even bother going for service anymore as they simply don't care about your vehicle as much as you do.

If you're driving in S-mode shifting when the jerking starts, dropping it a gear will make the jerking stop.

Also how much was an OV tuner? That’s pretty crappy they don’t fix that issue if you ask me

Get TSB done. OV tune 1.05 versions are hit an miss on the "jerking" (torque converter shudder) and other problems. It was pretty annoying on my truck , so I switched back to TSB version.
