Does anyone know if the Westin WES-50-6535 rubber tailgate mat will fit my 2016 Tacoma SRD Sport?

Why do you want one of those?

I have one left over from a 2002, that I didn't put on my 2012 or new 2018, but using the bed mat. When it went to composite, why drill it on?

My certified pre owned 2016 TRD Sport is in excellent condition, except for all the scratches in the bed and tailgate. My ONE criticism of the composite bed is that scratches appear light grey, and are way more noticeable than on a traditional bedliner. I had truck with a conventional bedliner, and sure- they get scratched, but it's not noticeable.
So, I managed to cover the bed with a nice thick rubber mat, and am now working to cover the tailgate. I managed to cut a piece of a rubber floor liner, and poked holes through it, and simply screwed through the holes to hold it down, but the rubber is a little too thin, and still sags a little. That's why I was interested in the Westin tailgate mat, which looks a little bit thicker. I wasn't aware that I would have to drill any holes in the tailgate composite panel????

I may try to coat mine myself in bed liner for this exact reason. If it doesn't workout I'll just buy the metal replacement panel.

Do you mean something like "Hi-Tech Truck Bed Liner Coating"???
I wasn't aware there was a metal replacement panel?? I just purchased an OEM composite panel, which can easily get scratched and those scratches get "magnified" because the black color isn't layered all the way through the composite material.

I've popped off the plastic gate cover to install the pop n lock. I really think one could just replace the plastic cover if it goes to shit. I supposed you could drill into the plastic to put on the cover, but maybe only on the top is all that's needed.

Can’t remember model but my tailgate mat is a Westin. Attached with screws and sure makes it easier on the knees when crawling across the open tailgate
