Not sure you can. It's not meant to be waterproof. Best way I've found to seal it I found is to close the tonneau cover first, then close the tailgate. Not perfect but it leaks less.

I'd love to hear from someone that did this. I was thinking the same thing, but was curious how it would work.

I actually contacted Line X yesterday, and they told me that it wouldnt stick. Didn't seem right to me, but I would have to guess they know what they're talking about.

Plastidip would never hold up, but I was figuring a spray on bedliner would be doable.

I had a first gen Xterra that had all the fading black plastic. I took all the parts off Sprayed with a satin black plastic spray and they looked great for the rest of my ownership (3-4 years later)

I just found this post and read the whole thing, I have tried everything and most the products run down the sides of the beds when it rains. Does the 303 mentioned or the wipe new do this? thanks

303 is the only product I found that doesn't run down the sides. Back to black streaked the sides but does wipe right off. Wipe new was invented here by a local friend of a friend who then sold off the company for a few million. I have some of the first batch that was made and is some of the best. Wipe new has been used, I have used it before but you need to reapply it about every year or it turns white. Good stuff but cannot say its the same as the original formula.

I use 303 on the tonneau, fenders, tires, and other black plastic areas. It will run if you don’t buff it extensively but usually just the next wash or rain. 303 doesn’t air dry, you have to buff it so it will cure properly. Great stuff and keeps everything looking new - I also recommend it for the tonneau.

303 is excellent. Very durable for the most part, I have no complaints here.

I was considering Plasti-Dipping mine....Wondered if anyone's done that, and if so, how it's held up?

Seems like even if it would need to be repeated a few times in the life of the truck, it could last longer than applying those shine products every week or two, forever....

Dealer treated mine upon delivery. Claimed if i ever have an issue due to fading they will warranty it for the life i own the truck. So far after 3 months it still appears the same as new.....we'll see.
