Long time tacoma owner, looking at getting a new ride.

I don't lurk as much as I used to, but I know the 3rd gens continue to have drivetrain "issues" to some degree.

I've read a that the MT is preferred by many. And the 2017 MT has specifically been recommended to me.

There is a 2017 Pro MT available used near me with 60K mi for 33K. Seems like a reasonable deal - esp if I can bring the price down further.

I have been trying to decide if I want to wait for 2020 and Car Play/styling changes or save the money with something used.

I know the 19s Pros all have a sunroof, which I'd probably like - but isn't a huge issue. Not sure if there are other issues I'd miss on a later model year. Can anyone tell me if there are other big changes that make the 18-20 years more desirable?

The 18s have TSS not sure if the 17s have radar guided cruse control but my 18 does. The sunroof eats into your head space by a couple inches.

That depreciation on a pro, ouch makes me glad I just went with the OR.

The 17's do not have TSS or adaptive cruise. Just pointing out.

Hurry up and buy the MT without all the electronic nannies before someone else does! You won’t regret it

The best feature of all the electronic nannies is that you can turn them off.

    Somehow.

    One by one.

    Each time.

    Over and over.

I like MT's. It's what I grew up with and in my opinion, a truck needs 3 pedals and a big ol' stick.

Rocky would have it no other way.

If that truck is still available I would snatch it up, especially with it being a manual. You won't regret it.

You want adaptive cruise. That much I know for certain.

I got my 2017 Pro MT (Cement) slightly used, 3k miles, and could not be happier.
Someone in another thread mentioned production numbers were around 41 total, but not sure if that was 2017 Pro + MT, or 2017 Pro + MT + Cement.
Either way, pretty rare, really great choice!

That’s a good price on that truck...TSS, CarPlay, power seat and different headlights on the later models will cost you another 12k. I’d rather have the 12 in my pocket.
