Can't leafs be removed to make them for lighter duty vehicles?

 

They can. In fact, it’s fairly easy and will not result in much loss of lift. However, I’m going with a Deaver or RXT pak since I no longer carry any weight. The Dakar packs are nice, but don’t ride plush enough for me.

 

I'm curious though, how does running too light ruin them?

 

It's very similar to riding on a solid piece of steel since there is not enough weight to make the leaf act as a spring.
Or in other words, the mass of the truck isn't great enough compress the spring. Hooke's Law: F=kx, or F/k=x, where F is the Force required to compress the spring (x) meters and k is the spring constant. If the constant is too large, then there no compression.

Running them too light results in the force being distributed to other areas. In my case, it was the bushings and spring retainers.

Is anyone interested in a 05-11 Black (202) front bumper with factory fogs?

It has a small crack on the lower passenger side that is unnoticeable unless you are laying on the ground, and it might have a few light scratches from getting moved around after removal.

Free to any takers before I put it in a dumpster.

They won't as the 3G TPMS reports actual pressure.

I wish the member was local, I could use those lug nuts from my FJ steel wheels. I'd be tempted to grab the SR5 wheels just to have more wheels to go around. I've only got 3 sets now, I'm feeling naked.

 

Wish you were local to me, I'd grab them in a heartbeat. I'd use the lugs for my FJ wheels and add the SR5 wheels to the collection.

I have not been driving much over the last year and am going back to a knobbier tire. These are great for gas mileage at only 37lbs per tire!

5 total tires with ~70% tread left. Brand new they have 13/32 =0.4", these tires range from 0.25-0.3 1 tire is brand new but picked up a nail the week it was put on. It's been holding air pressure for the last year with a plug in it. It's the been the spare.

If you like the FN Countersteer rims is sell the whole package of 5 tires and rims. No tpms

I'll bring these to the Aug new England meet if no takers prior to then.
