20% tint all around, blacked out badges, flowmaster 40 series and tip, rock hood deflectors, window deflectors, home made baja bumper, 17" XDseries wheels on some nitto terra grapplers, bright white led interior lights, blue needle on white gauges, cb antenna, with cobra radio.
My clockspring in my 2012 tacoma went out for the second time causing all the steering wheel controls not to work, I purchased a new one from ebay and installed it. When I installed it all the controls seemed to work but the horn didnt work. I pulled it back apart and looked at all the wiring connectors and they seemed alright. I went under the hood and the 10amp horn fuse blew, I replaced it with another 10amp fuse and I could hear the relay click when I would try to honk the horn then the fuse blew again. Does anyone have any help please, im at a wall and not sure what to do next.

    Thanks in advance.

touch the horn clip to the base of the steering wheel with the air bag removed and battery connected. It should honk when grounded.

When I touched the horn clip to the base of the steering wheel it still blows a fuse, what would my next step be? What would be the worst that could happen if I put a 15 amp fuse instead of a 10 amp fuse for the horn?

Worst case? Fire. Fire very unlikely, but fire bad. losing_it0.jpg

Best case? You severely shorten your battery's lifespan. You have an obvious short somewhere. Start looking for misaligned pins in your connectors and worn insulation on your wires.

EDIT: if neither of those things can be found then you probably received a bad clock spring. Return it and get another one.

I am still having the horn problem on my Tacoma, I hold each horn to see if maybe the horns are faulty and it is still shorting out.when I press the horn I can hear the relay clicking and eventually the fuse shorts out. If anybody has any professional advice or suggestions please let me know his problem is killing me
