Recommended service

2009 Tacoma 2.7 base model here. I was looking in the forums for a thread that contains manufacturer recommended service and some how to's but I didn't see anything specific.

I know I need to do the transmission fluid and I read on here that I don't need to pull the pan, drain, replace filter, replace gasket, and refill. I read that I could drain the fluid and refill. Is that right?

I'm not really experienced but I'm pretty handy and I'd like to do this kind of stuff myself not to just save money, but so that I will be able to take care of my wife's vehicle and teach my kids when they are old enough.

Even though the truck is a 2009 it only has 70,000 miles on it. I doubt anything other than regular maintenance has been done. Any input, help, or links to the correct threads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

 

The best way to search is go to google and search for what service you want to do and include the word Tacoma. It will bring you right back here with many choices.
