Have looked through searches and found a lot of great posts, and done many internet searches.
Without trying to start WWIII thought I’d ask for some last minute insights before pull the trigger..

While I didn't get any response have seen that a lot of people have looked at this thread-- I went with the autana 3 ruggedized with awning -- have been very happy with tent have spent about 15 nights in it--plan to change schedule to 2weeks on and 2weeks off and start 2 to 3 year over landing trip and think the tent will work perfect
As for the rack it is very well made and has held up well to some pretty serious off roading-- my only issue is that it has eaten into the plastic on top of bed about an 1/8 inch
Am building expedition trailer to put tent on to take the extra weight off of truck since has taken some of its off-roading capacities away would recommend either purchase to any one who is on the fence.
Any way what's another 4000 dollars in the pursuit of the ultimate tacoma!!!

Don’t think you can wrong with it. Lots of people have those. Each model has its pros and cons.

Saw a number of ARE camper shells on last trip have been giving them some thought— am also working on a way to build a bar across back of rack to keep people honest — haven’t come up with solid plan yet
