Have been searching for an answer to this but cannot seem to get a straight answer. Appears that the regular service under ToyotaCare can happen anywhere, but must the service you receive for issues under the 36K Basic or 60K Drivetrain warranty happen at the dealership you purchased the car at?

500 miles in to TRD OR and having some serious issues with a rocking seat and the dealership I bought the truck at is 45 minutes away and have a different dealership a couple blocks from my office. Would obviously rather go to the one closer to my work.

The warranty is a performance contract between the owner of the vehicle and Toyota and that contract is honored at any Toyota dealership in the USA.

Any dealer can fix the problem and submit the bill to Toyota corporate to get reimbursed. Basically. But yes you can go to any Toyota dealer.

You don’t have to go back to the dealer we’re the vehicle was purchased. Recalls, other issues are performed by any Toyota dealership. Had my fan blower recall done and replaced at a different dealer. My wife’s ‘18 Highlander had its battery replaced at a different dealer!

The dealer might not like it, but they have to. You can always request the US Factory Rep for your area to straighten them out . Dealers are not very fond of hearing that request either, but they will either do the work at that point or have no choice but to call in the Rep . I did that with a ISUZU Trooper I had the factory book for, and the power steering pump went bad. (seized ) The dealer tried to tell me I didn't have the services done there. They were right about that. I was a tech at a Volvo Vw, Honda dealer at that time a few miles up the road. There was nothing in the factory manual on any maintenance for that pump and I showed that to the dealer. They sill went NOPE. I had the factor rep come and he made them do the pump on warranty . They didn't like it, but they had to do it . LOL the Shop manager from there works at NAPA near me and he still doesn't like me 30 years later . I am good with that LOL
