Has anyone tried this new Rust-Oleum Factor 4 Synthetic Wax? It's billed as an "Electrofusion synthetic car wax" and is supposed to be high gloss and long lasting.

I have been using Turtle Wax Paste since I bought my truck 12 years ago . Every other year I clay the truck then apply Turtle Wax Ice . I build up a couple of coats then apply a wax on tp of that. Seems to have worked pretty well and the truck looks almost showroom new.

They changed the original formula a couple years back and now Turtle Wax Ice paste is hard to find in stores around these parts and even online ordering its hard to find. I guess it takes some work yo use and people didn't buy it. I've always been happy with it and got excellent results. Twice I've ordered and Walmart never was able to fill the order after a couple of weeks and reply it is on backorder, but it never seems to come in.

So I came across an ad for this new Rust-Oleum and just wondered if it's worth trying.

If you like the Turtle Wax then switch to the liquid. Liquid is probably easier to remove anyways.

Go to the detailing section and post. I personally wouldn't use any of the products you listed but you like them so

tried the liquid, for me it didn't seem to last as long in the Florida sun The paste really sticks well and repels dirt. TI has really kept the paint like new

If you really want awesome results buy a DA Polisher and take the time to buff the paint out. You will be amazed on how the paint will look. Ive been using chemical guys stuff along with there butter wax and im sold mirror finish 60BB8136-4039-44A5-9E17-1B0535119F3B.jpg

Nice! I thought about buying a polisher years ago. Many times I wished I had one. But I'm old school. I do everything by hand Some times it takes me two or three days I get a little exercise and get outside in the breezes coming off the ocean. Besides I'd might go hog wild with it and burn the paint or the darn thing might overpower me and spin me around a few times.

My neighbors are always asking me to detail their car. I told them $300 bucks. That scares them away and they don't ask again. lol Neighbor girl is a nurse and bought a beautiful emerald green Mustang. She took me up on my offer, but I only took $100 since her car was new. She bought all the silicone sealant and cleaners and towels and let me keep the leftovers. Took me about 8 hours to get it perfect. I couldn't believe how well that green metallic paint popped with that silicone.

Collonite 845 is great stuff - for a classic carnauba wax. I used it for many years, but haven't used it in about 8 years on my vehicles. It's pretty much old school and better products are available in my humble opinion - particularly where it comes to longevity. One of my customers still asks for it and I give it to him - but as a topper over a synthetic sealant. That way he gets the longevity of a sealant, but the look of a wax.

The polisher isn’t for applying wax or removing wax. The polisher is used for correcting paint. It is nearly impossible to burn the paint with a DA polisher. Now a rotary on the other hand that is a different story.

I get the old school aspect but seriously there are better products out there that require less effort. No, I am not being lazy but when I have 3 vehicles to maintain my time is precious.

I have used NuFinish for years on all my vehicles. It really does last and I only have to apply 2x/year. I had heard about the Rustoleum product and looked it up on line. You can't take it into an automatic car wash without "neutral" ph. I suspect that the product is destroyed by alkaline soap as is used in automatic washes so, for me, the product is useless as where I live in the winter it is not possible to wash the truck in my own drive. If I want to clean the car, even if I use a sprayer at a DIY place the coating would be lost so I will stick with NuFinish

I have tried nufinish, turtlewax Ice, mothers cali gold liquid, and meguiars cleaner paste wax.

My favorite by far is the meguiars cleaner wax paste. Lasts the longest by far, and I think its easier to achieve a much thicker layer with only one coat, even if it is somewhat laborsome to remove.

Turtlewax Ice Liquid is sooo thin, I almost cant tell a difference between it and the Ice detailing spray. The only thing its good for is waxing bedliner, as it doesnt leave a white crust, and shines it up.

I didnt get the hype with nufinish, to me it lasted no longer than the mothers california gold, or about 6 months.

That does look sharp! So on old/faded paint, wax will kinda bring it back and hide some imperfections. Does the ceramic stuff do that? Or is it more for newer paint/vehicles?

Old/faded paint needs to have the paint corrected in order to fix the issue. The wax is only a temporary fix. You can use ceramic on any paint. I have never used on faded paint since I have a polisher. Besides cars for the most part have clear coat. If the paint looks faded it’s due to loss of clarity and that requires a paint correction.
