2013 Steering wheel controls removal

Hey Everyone,
Recently I spilled a drink (luckily most of it got on me lol) and I have everything cleaned up except that the volume up/down button on the steering wheel is sticking. Is this control something I can just pop off and clean? Did not want to just start prying on it.

I think you've got to take off the whole bezel to get at the switch. Couple of Phillips screws through the back of the wheel I believe

 

So ......what kind of drink was it? The hops and barley kind?

 

lol I guess I should have specified . It was a large sweet tea from McD's. Was getting it from their window to hand to my wife and I hit the rain guard (aftermarket, my first mod yay!) and the lid came off and probably half the drink spilled out. I thought I had gotten it all cleaned up until the next day when I noticed the control starting to stick

 

Nope. You must take out the airbag to access the phillips screws to get the controls off. Really easy to do though.

Did this solve your problem? I have a similar issue, but without the sweet tea . I can't get anyone to confess on how it got smutzed up. If so, i'd love to hear how hard it was to get to before I decide to take this on.
