I’m looking to get a set of steelies for my first gen but I want something that’s stock style with a lower offset so the wheels are more flush with the fenders. Anyone have recommendations? I’ve been looking at fj cruiser steelies but I think most people that are running them are also running spacers.

** pic is of someone else’s truck on fj steelies

I'm pretty sure most steelies are gonna run the same or less BS as the standard alloy wheels... 4-4.5". I ran 1.25" spacers for both my alloy and steelies and with 255/85's I was about flush with fenders. If I remember correctly, there's a company in South CA that makes custom steel wheels... But they would cost as much as high end rims.. just a matter of what it's worth to you.

You will be better off by staying with stock Toyota steel wheels if you like the look. I went for some 16" ProComp Series 52 D Slot Rock crawlers that rubbed the front caliper. I love the wheels, but I had additional expense to overcome the fitment issue.

I ran FJ 17" steelies on my 02 Tacoma 4x4 and didn't need any wheel spacers. I had about a 2"lift.

I never "needed" spacers, my tires always cleared with my lift... I just liked the look of a little wider stance

Any pictures I’d like to see what it look like without spacer cause I’d prefer no spacer just don’t want that super sunk narrow stance
