So I am getting Venomrex 17" wheels and am looking for tire recommendations. I do not do any wheeling, but I would not mind hitting a trail and a mud puddle or two. Looking at 265/70/17. Thoughts?

Do you run those? What did you pay? I am seeing them for around $190/ea. Sound right?

If not wheeling, I really like the look of lower profile tires. I’m probably going to be riding on some 55 series 18” or 20”.

I do have them on my truck, got them during one of the ebay coupon days and got all four for around $500.

I know a lot of people dislike them, but the stock Goodyear Wranglers All-Terrain
(OEM style) are a great street tire with a bit of an off road tread. Very quiet on the highway. The 265/70/17 would work without lift but might require no mud flaps if you've got those. Or, as already suggested the Wildpeaks will work and give you a more aggressive tread.

What size are you running? MPG changes dramatic?

I don't mind them, they are just expensive. I do want a bit more aggressive tread pattern though.

This- i just put a set on my 5 lug and they ran about 550 out the door. Love em, mileage is good and they are not noisy at highway speeds.

    Michelin Defenders.

Great (best?) highway tires, reportedly reasonable in snow, fine for light offroading.

Costco. Wait till the Miches are on sale, then they run their 1 cent mounting/balancing/nitrogen sale, with free road hazard warranty. Lifetime rotations and balances.

Cooper AT3, they have great road manners and traction and perform great Offroad. The AT3 LT is what you want.

IDK, less than $200 seems reasonable. But as I said, the Wildpeaks are a good tire which are reasonable on the street and pretty good off road. They will certainly give you a more "aggressive" look for mall crawling. :D

I'll be looking at some Wildpeaks when my OEM's wear out (couple of years) and who knows... there will probably be some new offerings by then.
