I imagine a nice shot from the door way during hurricane Matthew back in 2016 should be scenic enough.

Thank you. Southern New Mexico just outside of Las Cruces. You can choose to stay on some very nice tame trails or you can get off the beaten path if you know what you’re doing but you need to be careful if you don’t know where you’re going.

A few years back a couple guys were killed after rolling their Jeep not far from there. Many of the trails look fine from a distance then before you know it you’re ass deep in trouble with no way to turn around.

Pics could have been nicer but I took them with my shitty iPhone 6.

Interesting side note for those who like historical stuff. Right around the base of that mound used to be an old stage coach trail. Overlooking it on the backside of the mound is the site where William H. Bonnie - AKA Billy the Kid - and his gang once hid out from the law.

Supposedly they were there for a few weeks and scratched their initials on the side of a rock at the very site of their hidden campsite. After years of weathering and people going up there and touching it, its barely perceptible. It’s so faint about the only thing you can make out anymore is an “O” and I think maybe an “I”. I have pics of it but you really can’t make out very much.

Campsite. Overlooking the stagecoach trail and outlaw’s graffiti.

Sorry guys. For some reason I can’t get these pics to come out in any semblance of order. That last pic is of the actual campsite which was taken from underneath on the old stagecoach trail. The hidden campsite is behind that tree and graffiti is on those rocks near the tree.
