Either one will be fine, the Baofeng can be programmed for CB, GMRS and Ham, but it's technically illegal for GMRS because it's not a certified GMRS device. 90 percent of the guys running GMRS use the

I found some of that green "dirt" that Chad was slinging around on my truck!

 

This. @riz_atx and I both have the baofeng and have used them with GMRS frequencies but it explicitly states in the manual that it is illegal to do so. Hopefully I'll get my HAM license next weekend and along with my GMRS I'll be fully covered and it shouldn't matter. So yes, technically it'll work. But it's intended for licensed HAM operators

Hmm... I thought you used it as handheld, so I thought maybe there was a portable antenna, if you used the magnet and stayed by your truck, maybe not. I didn't tape that box bottom either, so it could have fallen out if it was indeed there! I'm not positive of it's existence......
