    Hi folks,

I made you a video of a lighting mystery on my truck. The only aftermarket wiring I know of is a Curt Trailer light harness, which I checked and looks professionally installed and nothing appearing unusual there.

Why are my cluster lights and license plate lights flickering when the hazard flashers are on? This can’t be normal

    You have a short (somewhere).

I noticed your taillights appear to flash with the signal lights; my truck does not do this. Only the signal lights flash when the hazards are on.

I would re-examine the hitch wiring. I’m guessing the ground wire is connected to or contacting something it shouldn’t be.

I agree, somebody flubbed up the hitch wiring. Remove it and retest.

Also the converter unit could be defective causing this issue. Assuming that it is the flat 4 wire trailer connector.

Folks, thank you. I sourced the problem to the pass side light area. Given that the lights flicker on the dash when the hazard flashers are on, I pulled the wires for the curt trailer harness for the turn signals, which are on the pass side. I just took out the jumper connector and now the flickering is gone!

But, now the trailer harness is without STOP and RIGHT TURN. I’ll call Curt on Monday to ask what is up. It could be a defective unit. I don’t tow so it’s hardly a concern.

    Thanks for the tips, y’all
