Group recommendations on wheel size:
18s or 20s
Offset depth

 

Most here prefer 16s or 17s. What do you like better?

 

This got me thinkin.... any donk tacos out there on something ridiculous? Like 36's (not tires)? Spinners or 10,000 spokes for bonus points.

I’m having a hard time deciding. I do need to make sure that I have enough room to be able to upgrade to big brakes later

 

All but one kit fit under 17s, I think.

 

Depends on how you use the truck, smaller wheels and bigger tires for off-road and big wheels with less aggressive tires for highway use. The options are endless. 17’s leave room for a brake upgrade but not as much as 18’s. Tires are usually cheaper for a 17 than a 20, 18’s have a smaller selection than anything else.

That’s where Im at in my decision because my truck will be a half and half. I want on and off-road capability.

 

A taller aspect ratio tire will give you more off-road, than a lower profile. 17s with ***/70r17 looks and performs pretty good as a daily driver

Proof! I have proof that Little Big Red crossed all the water today, thanks to @padre from the SATX gang. That was a new experience for me! At least on purpose, not running from a flood!

 

The popular setup right now is 3” lift with 285/70r17. The overland crew prefers 255/80r17, same height but not as wide (better fuel economy). The way it’s trending is towards 35’s, a good deal more modification but it looks badass. What kind of offroad stuff do you want to do? Size and style recommendations can be made for different terrain.
