I prefer 11.9 or lower at those loads on a boosted setup. Probably making a little more power at 13, but the cost could outweigh the benefit.

It was just the camera because when I'm doing a pull like that I'll see it go down to around 11.3 - 11.5.

Maybe at some point Matt will release something user friendly similar to HP Timers. Competition is good motivation. He seems very knowledgeable with these ECUs. I think he just doesn’t have a staff of coders under his employ like HP Tuners does.

We are still working on our tunes, and supporting / developing new features for that as best we can. But for a end user software I don't really want to compete against HPTuners so that's pretty much dead in the water now.

We are 2 people and HPTuners is *probably* 50+.

Generally speaking we actually get more people asking to tune their Corollas then 2nd gen Tacomas. I think the reason you guys have had success with this is just the open dialogue / collaboration. Because outside of that it's pretty slim tuning 4.0s. Also the fact the ECU cannot be read by OBD makes it that much more of a crapshoot with international trucks, which is the primary request.

But we will continue with what we do, at our own pace. Making a direct competing option to HPT is extremely unlikely at this point. Maybe we will do tunes on HPT..

That wouldn't be a bad route actually. The development and R&D is there for a simple streamline in tuning from their end. The wheel is already there, so there is no sense in trying to reinvent it. The demand would have to be there, though at this point would be a little bit more on the low end as far as that's concerned. It never hurts to have the offering available though.

I have destroyed rev hang, my truck slows when I lift off the throttle. I can now up-shift quickly (relatively speaking). Life is good.

Next to hit up Just DSM for some tuning goodness.

HP Sauce is the best.

If you haven't already done so, recommend deleting your Clutch Accumulator. It's removal, along with Rev-Hang Delete tune, have the truck shifting like it always SHOULD have. Highly recommended!

    I have indeed.

I seem to be sorting my truck out by making it older/simpler.

-removing the clutch accumulator for a simple piece of pipe
    - removing rev hang
-adjusting the throttle mapping to act more like a cable
-bypassing the VSC and Traction Control
-ditching the silly “auto lsd” for a Torsen LSD designed in the 1950’s

Whatever the case I sure wouldn’t change it back to the way Toyota had it. All those Nannies can f*ck right off. I bet the 3rd gens are even worse.

AutoLSD in conjunction with a torsen LSD will give you almost a locker like rear diff when you lift a tire, just saying. But agreed, stuff like clutch accumulator, or softening up the throttle mapping from early 2nd gens to late 2nd gens makes me scratch my head.

Seriously cant wait for 2TR support.. The 4-5 rev hang in my 5spd is driving me crazy. Go to push in the clutch to shift to 5th and it holds the revs at 3k rpms until ive already slowed down too much to be able to maintain speed in 5th. Totally frustrating :goingcrazy:

Never had this issue in my 6spd, but hoping the throttle cracker is something that can be manipulated in the 2.7 as well:fingerscrossed:

How did you “ditch” auto LSD? Mistake IMHO! It’s designed so you can turn it off anyway and with the additional mechanical LSD it’s complimented. Those won’t fight each other.

But, I digress. Off topic anyway

When adjusting the transmission commands, would that include how it shifts and reacts in cruise control? I don't know if its just me but it seems as though my 2015 is very slow to react to hills and then over-reacts and ends up going +/- almost 5mph from the set cruise. Also if I have my dirt bike in the back or a couple on a trailer and get a head wind (@70-75mph) it can't figure out just to keep it in 5th with the torque converter unlocked forcing me to just throw the shifter into 4th and sucking the fuel fast. If it's a long hill or high head wind it will downshift, go 3-4mph over set cruise, drop back to OD, loose speed again and the process repeats itself over and over. VERY ANNOYING!!

I'm sure the answer may be in the last 180 pages somewhere, but I just don't have that much time to read it. haha

Just the SAI and Throttle Recalibration makes it very appealing already to me. The above would just be icing on the cake!

Yes that is annoying! But you dont want it to stay in 5th with it unlocked. Itll cook transmission oil that way. You want it to either stay in 5th locked up or drop to 4th and locked.

That makes perfect sense, I don’t know why I didn’t think about that.... haha But will it still help with the annoying hunting for speed even unloaded? Or (just a theory) would it be possible to lock the converter in 4th in those conditions to reduce rpms?
