Hello all, I can't recall if this is my 1st post on Tacoma World but it is my 1st in the Texas region forum since relocating to the Spring area last in April last year. My taco is a 2001 dbl cab V6 TRD gen 1 with approx 159k miles (can't recall exact number ATM). I am proficient enough to do general maintenance along with replacing all front end suspension components. I am the trucks 2nd owner, purchased in 2003.

Being new to this area I am looking for a transmission/mechanic in the Spring/Klein/Woodlands area that others have had success with?

I am having a new "sound" coming from the transmission after a drain/fill that could be potentially more expensive of a repair than my 2 teen drivers will allow me to sort out within reasonable time once they both get home and need their vehicles back to go to work.

The other weekend my radiator went out and I replaced it over this past weekend as well as doing a transmission fluid swap, approx 6 qts. The trans fluid was "dirty" but still had good color and most of the long distance/harder mileage was over 2017/18 while work rotation traveling between here and Oklahoma. I had short work commutes in Oklahoma and short ones here in Texas. Any ways, after starting the truck and letting it idle there were no "new" sounds but when I switch from park or neutral to any drive gear there is a "whistle/whine" sound that is happening that wasn't there before. The truck has only been ran and moved in the garage, I haven't road tested it yet to see if the sound increases or goes away.

Anyone have thoughts or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated? Should I cross post this issue in the 1st gen forum as well?
