Oil filter unused when doing the oil change

    This happens to me too. I use unused oil filters when I change my oil as well.

    An easy way to test if it’s getting oil to it is to take the filter off and turn the truck on, if you see a fountain of oil shooting out where the filter is then you know the pump is working!

    I’m gonna try this tomorrow morning. I might go for a short drive as well with the oil filter off just to make sure I get the truck up to proper operating temperature.

    Just stick a clear hose on the filter nipple & stick the other end of the hose in the filler. Then there's nothing to worry about. ;)

    I think OP means nothing drains out when he spins the filter off. If he lets it sit for a while it will self drain a little and may appear "empty" when he removes it

    One must lick the radiator cap while touching the oil drain plug with their left little toe as Africa by Toto plays through the rear speakers only. Otherwise the oil pump will not have enough pressure to reach that oil filter.....
