    Update,
    To date, I still have not been able to get a scanner to connect and read any codes from the OBDII port. All the symptoms were signs of a malfunctioning sensor. so I went the old school way of process of elimination and testing each sensors resistance based on specs. Ultimately, the problem was a bad Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (ECT). Replaced it and not a blip since. Thank you, All for assistance. Great site and blog. Still love my Toyota.... Oh what a feelin to drive...…...TOYOTA!!!
