Ok, so at the recommendation of several people here, I tried the BF product - and yes it has been a good experience and still is going strong (? low surface energy hydrophobisity, water scaredy cat). It has maintained good slickness and water beading after being in the AZ sun for some time. It wasn't real clear on the autogeek site, the next time I wash (haha - 3 months ago, only dusty right now) do I apply it again like the first time (cue Foreigner from 1977)?

I do two coats 12 hours apart. Not really to layer it, but to ensure even coverage. I think it gets a little glossier but that could be in my head. Mostly I do it for fun.

I use carpro reload, same idea but imo better than blackfire. But the premise is the same. Apply it every 3-4 months no ensure its protecting your paint. I also use other products so I dont rely on gloss and hydrophobia as a measure of whether its still working. Better safe than sorry.
