Think about it this way, you ever stop to help someone and they have different sized lugs and their crappy oem wrench can’t make them budge? This is why you want that versatility. Also helps transfer to different vehicles and ones you plan on buying in the future. One less thing to worry about

I carry one of those in each of my vehicles, they are great since they pack up small but give you the leverage you need when removing wheel. I don’t use them at home though, just for side or road/trail flats. The sockets are shit though, so chuck them out and buy the correct one. Something like this if you need thin wall. (Don’t buy thin wall socket unless you absolutely need it)

I have one of these that I bought for one of my trailers. Works great.

That is a 1/2” breaker bar. It just packs up smaller, and is longer (once extended) than the average 1/2” breaker bar. Plus, you can’t buy a quality 1/2” breaker bar for the price of that and you also need an extension on a breaker bar to clear the wheel / tire, with that you don’t since isn’t not 90deg.
At home I don’t use it, but out on trail/road it’s way better since it’s smaller / lighter / and has more leverage.

Yes, I have one and it does work great. Collapsed it's short enough to fit in a small tool box but extends enough for good leverage.

3/4" electric impact. Gotta make sure those suckers are tight. Just watch the new guy at the shop with his new IR impact wrench.
But seriously, 1/2' breaker bar and appropriate deep socket. 18" is fine.
Plus, you can whup some ass with it if necessary...

I bought a 24" 1/2" drive breaker bar for like $10 on sale at Canadian Tire. Might be my damn near favorite tool.

Just havin some laughs over here! I’m sure those are all good tools. This isn’t my DD (my DD is a burgundy 95 Ford Contour lol) so in the taco, which is the gtfo of town mobile, I carry a set of sockets 1/2” - 1/4” which are heavy enough, so I like things to be as multi-functional as possible.

It’s always good to take care of your nuts, whatever the tool.

I have 2 of these with thin wall sockets. Works great. Even bought one to use on the tow truck when I drove for 3a.

With real tight lugs you might not get a good "straight" pull with that less than 90 degree bend than a 4way will give.

Initially, this looked pretty nifty. Then i read the 1 star reviews about how the socket is just press fit on the end and will twist right off with enough torque. Too bad, because it is a great concept if it were done correctly.

I don't go off-roading, and since I have AAA, I haven't had to use a lug wrench in ages! :fingerscrossed:

I bought a 25" long 1/2" breaker bar from Harbor Freight for $14.00. Bought a 21mm Snap On socket for I think $33.00. I keep a 2 foot section of thick wall aluminum pipe that will slip over the breaker bar handle too.

I'll go cheap on a breaker bar, but won't skimp on sockets.

It's good to use a random selection, slows down wheel thieves.

I've always used these. Not for all of the different sockets, one is all you need. But for the ability to push and pull at the same time. shopping.jpg
