wondering if anyone else experienced problems with the AMS clutch replacement package.
New clutch and throw out bearing kit was installed and within about a thousand miles the throw out bearing started to squeal. Clutch kit was removed and replaced under warranty and a replacement provided and installed. Again the throw out bearing stared to squeal after about a thousand miles. Advised by their product personnel to try and Toyota throw out bearing, this also failed.

after much expense and frustration it was discovered that the AMS clutch plate was incorrectly labeled such: the flywheel side marking was on the wrong side. the off set was different .
the company claims that it work in either position. note the clutch also chattered .

has anyone else experienced this problem ?

no, on every single disk clutch job i have ever done if the hub on the disk projects out father on one side than the other that projection goes towards the transmission and not the flywheel.

Having learned that lesson long ago most clutch discs can only go one way .

Having never seen a AMS clutch disc anything is possible .

Is it possible to take pictures of both sides of the clutch disc ?/

I am really curious to see if this is indeed different or if you have been told a story

wyoming09 here are some pics. The original clutch is on the left. note the difference of the spline , it sticks out a lot more on the new one

I would say the one on the right the disc is backwards if it is sitting ready to bolt to the flywheel .

The one on the left is correct ready to bolt to the fly wheel

Maybe things got turned around moving things around .

Any more one needs to compare all the old parts with new so many things boxed wrong

I looked all over for a picture showing that. As a bit of unsolicited advice... check that the coil springs are tight in the housing or you will get a rattle that you cant find.
